BACKGROUND
Born in Hartford, Connecticut to Mr. and Mrs. Justo Jose Carrera, Cuban exiles who fled Cuba’s political turmoil in 1962. Attorney Carrera would later attend Florida Air Academy from 1973-1979, in Plantation, Florida and Daytona Beach Community College in Volusia County. Gabriel would successfully complete his Bachelors and Master Degree at the University of Hartford in Connecticut. Gabriel returned to his beloved State of Florida to earn is Juris Doctorate Degree from The Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University.
Attorney Carrera interned over 450 pro bono hours at Broward County Public Defender’s Office during law school earning him the an honors at graduation. Attorney Carrera would later begin his legal career in Immigration and Civil law at the Immigration Law Centre in North Miami Beach.
Attorney Carrera is the founder and President of the International Law Office, located in Fort Lauderdale, in two convenient locations. Although the firm is new it is backed by Attorney Carrera’s life time experience.
Attorney Carrera is a former employee of the United States Small Business Administration: Disaster Assistance Office (SBA) in Fort Worth Texas, and is very knowledgeable in the SBA’s Standard Operating Procedure and Federal regulation. Attorney Carrera’s responsibility with the U.S. SBA in its Legal Department was assisting hurricane Katrina and Wilma victims with their application for low interest disaster relief loans.
Attorney Carrera currently practices in the areas of U.S. Immigration & Nationality, Family, Florida Civil, and International law.

Juris Doctorate Degree: with a Concentration of International Law certified from The Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University, in Fort Lauderdale Florida . Prestigious member of the Shepard Broad Law Center Moot Court Society and the Pro Bono Honors Society. (2002-2005)
Masters in Communication: Concentration in Computer Mediated Communication from The School of Communication, at the University of Hartford, West Hartford, Connecticut. (2001-2002)
Bachelors in Arts Degree: Cum Laude, in Politics and Government, concentration in foreign policy, from the University of Hartford, West Hartford, Connecticut. (1998-2001)
